Boychuk Drive and Highway 16 Interchange

Construction at the site of a new interchange at Boychuk Drive and Highway 16 started in April 2017. The interchange was made possible by the governments of Canada and Saskatchewan who each contributed $10,960,885 through the Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component – National and Regional Projects. The Boychuk Drive and Highway 16 interchange opened in July 2019.

The new interchange will...

  • ease traffic congestion, especially during morning and afternoon rush hour
  • reduce accidents
  • include a new eastbound left-turn loop to replace the eastbound left turn lane from Highway 16 onto Boychuk Drive
  • include accessible pedestrian and cyclist pathways, allowing for safe movement across the roadways
  • include the construction and reconstruction of sound walls on the north side of Highway 16, west of Boychuk Drive
  • include new street lighting
