Saskatoon Light and Power (SL&P), in partnership with the Saskatchewan Environmental Society Cooperative/Solar Co-Op Ltd. (SES-SESSC) and Saskatchewan Polytechnic have created one of the province’s first power generation co-operatives at the Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Demonstration Site, part of the Landfill Gas Collection and Power Generation System.

The speed limit will be reduced to 60 km/h on College Drive approaching McOrmond Drive on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 and on Highway 16 approaching Boychuk Drive starting Thursday, April 27, 2017. The reduced speed limit is in place as crews work alongside the roadways in preparation of interchange construction beginning at each intersection.

From beginning to mid-May, the City will take action to control cottony ash psyllid.  As outlined in a report to City Council late last year, the pest is affecting trees in Saskatoon’s downtown area, business improvement districts, and surrounding neighbourhoods.

“Large numbers of psyllids were detected in trees planted within concrete cut-outs in our central business areas, which have been particularly susceptible,” says Michelle Chartier, Superintendent of Urban Forestry and Pest Management.

Leave the car at home and take the bus to the Saskatchewan Rush game at SaskTel Centre tonight. Saskatoon Transit will have bus service from the downtown terminal departing at 5:45 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 6:20 p.m., 6:35 p.m., 6:55 p.m. and 7:10 p.m.

Regular fares apply ($3.00 per trip), transfers, and passes will also be accepted.

Access Transit is also available using standard booking procedures. When leaving SaskTel Centre, buses will be located in front of the Rock 102 main entrance and will be departing immediately following the game.
