Reminder! City Hall Public Meeting tonight 7p.m. - share your thoughts on proposed changes to ward boundaries
The 2020 municipal/school boards’ elections will be held in fall 2020 and early planning is already underway. This includes reviewing the ten wards in Saskatoon to ensure each has equal population representation in each according to The Cities Act.
New boundaries are now required for four ward boundaries (Wards 5, 7, 8 and 10) and the proposed changes could also affect the boundaries of other wards. The Community Association you belong to, or the City Councillor you've had to-date could change - we know this is important to residents.
Stop by for a few minutes tonight! Your input will help draw the new ward boundary lines! What's important to you? How might changes to your ward's boundary affect you?
Interested residents are invited to meet with members of the Saskatoon Municipal Wards Commission, share feedback, and review current boundaries and projected growth areas at a come and go public meeting tonight:
Wednesday, June 19, 2019, from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Location: City Hall - Committee Room "E"
Use entrance #1 at the corner of 4th Ave and 23rd St East
Public parking is available in the City Hall staff lot after 6:00 p.m.
Can’t make tonight’s in-person event? It’s easy to participate online through a brief survey at saskatoon.ca/engage. Email preference? Send your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org or drop off your suggestions at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall.
All public input received will be taken into consideration by the Municipal Wards Commission. Once ward boundary options have been drafted, further public engagement will be held in fall 2019 to receive feedback prior to a final decision being made.
