The Zoning Bylaw last underwent a review from 2007 to 2009. To align with identified strategic priorities and current trends, a range of amendments will be considered, including business-friendly and economic-development initiatives, environmental initiatives and other current trends in planning. Amendments will also align with other strategic City initiatives, including the Plan for Growth, the Culture Plan, the Saskatoon North Partnership for Growth Regional Plan and the redesigned Official Community Plan (to be completed in 2019).
This project will undertake a review of the Zoning Bylaw to ensure that it meets current and desired trends in commercial, residential and community developments.
The Review will also include the development of a digital platform for the Zoning Bylaw.
The Zoning Bylaw project will not consider specific zoning requests - these are better handled through the development review process.
The project will also not include a review of the organization and basic structure of the Zoning Bylaw.
